PHOTO I NATURE I TRIP I FREEDOM
How many roads must a person travel before he is called a man?
And how many seas must a white dove fly over before falling asleep on the shallows?
And how many more cannonballs must fly before they are banned forever?

How many years can mountains stand before they are washed away by the sea?
And how many years can some people eke out an existence before they are allowed to be free?
How many times can a man turn away and pretend he didn't see anything?

How many times must a person look up before he sees heaven?
And how many ears must a person have before he hears human cries?
And how many deaths will it take to realize that too many people have died?

The answer, my friend, is up in the air.
The answer was up in the air.

KHEVSURETI, 2024

Khevsureti is a remote region in northeastern Georgia, where time seems to stand still, giving way to the grandeur of nature. The season is already coming to an end, and there are almost no tourists here. Only endless mountains and golden colors of autumn cover this forgotten place, filling the air with special silence.

Two days in Khevsureti became a real escape. Without landmarks, where the only directions are the horizon and the paths leading upward in search of a place to stay for the night. The road meandered between the cliffs, revealing fabulous views around almost every turn, making your heart skip a beat. I got lost among ancient stone towers and inaccessible rocks.

These moments - when you stand at the top of the pass, and valleys stretch beneath your feet, sparkling in the rays of the autumn sun - are like an attempt to feel the breath of eternity. The wind brought cold with it, but with it a sweet feeling of freedom and a deep breath. Among the secluded mountains, time ceases to matter, and only you and nature remain, which generously shares its silence and beauty. All that remains is to silently contemplate.

Khevsureti is not just a place on the map where you can visit for show. This is a place where the soul can find its refuge, hide from everything and just be. I will miss this corner of wild Georgia. Maybe someday I’ll come back again to get lost among the autumn, mountains and off-road.
VASHLOVANI, 2024

A place where it seems that you have left Georgia far away and suddenly found yourself in the vast expanses of the King of the West. Here, as soon as you step on the dirt roads, you feel the spirit of real adventure. The road is not smooth, no: you are tossed and shaken, as if nature were telling you - it’s not only the cars that decide here, but you yourself. This place lives its own wild life with dangers in the form of poisonous snakes, jackals, wolves and a pair of leopards, which remind you that you are just a guest here. Eagles circle high in the sky, like the spirits of this region, watching everything from above, and the steppe wind whispers something unintelligible to you, carrying your thoughts far into the desert.

An incredible panorama opens up all around: desert lands, cut by rocks and gorges, hills on which the sand breathes warmth and sunlight. This is a real oasis of emptiness, where the air is saturated with freedom, and the vast territory consists of parched lands in some places and deciduous forests in others.

At night, the sky here is, of course, wild, and when you see a falling star, you rejoice like a child.

At dawn, Vashlovani plunges into fabulous calm and deafening silence. As the first rays of the sun make their way, the ground is painted in soft shades of ocher and a soft gradient from violet to soft blue. Dry grass sparkles under the light, like thin threads woven into a carpet of sand and stone. Here, every bush, every curved tree is a small story about how they survive in this harsh but fascinating place. When the wind whispers its ancient stories, it seems that it is telling you the secrets of this distant land that keeps memories, and you drag yourself up a steep cliff to look from above.

As you continue your journey, you wonder what will happen next. The road here is an adventurer's paradise, from simple dirt roads, narrow mountain gorges to car-packed stripes through vast hills that can be used to accelerate into the sunset. Each dusty path leads towards endless horizons, beyond which you just want to look. With every kilometer you realize that this place has a special energy that forces your inner world to find harmony with those quiet but strong rhythms that emanate from the earth.
